MOST DISAPPOINTING RESTAURANT MEALS

Satisfaction, in most aspects of life is measured relative to one's expectations. We had very high expectations for most of the experiences we list below. These expectations were not met, not even close. Usually these were expensive disappointments.
Cyrus--Healdsburg. One of 10 courses was outstanding. Service was arrogant.Had heard so many good things. Very expensive.
Del Posto--NY. I have had great meals at Babbo, Esca, Lupa--even Otto. Dal Posto was OK, but nowhere close to the hype, and it was very expensive.
Peter Luger--NY. Just don't get how the reputation of this place came to be. Mediocre steak--have had much better at home. The terrible service was expected--part of the shtick--but tho so-so food was not.
Incanto--SF. Known for their offal, I will remember them for their awful. Actually, it was't terrible, just uninspired given the hype.
Nobu--LV--Been to Nobu Matsuhisa's restaurants in London, LA, Aspen. The first two were spectacular, Aspen was terrible (but I wasn't expecting much). Las Vegas was mediocre and I was expecting a great deal.
Picasso-LV--I would rank it about 25th best of the LV restaurants at which I have eaten. It was about the 3rd most expensive. The paintings are nice.
AVoce-NY--Even before Carmellini left this restaurant could not compare to its reputation.
Vetri-Phila--All the way to Philly to try this place and they ran out of goat. What they did serve was slightly better than ordinary.
Taka Sushi--S.Diego. No place this close to the water, any water, should have sushi this commonplace. And the service was terrible.
