We created FoodCrunch in 2009 to address the growing interest in agtech and food among entrepreneurs.

The big questions.

FoodCrunch is a hub for the changemakers flipping the challenges facing our food and agriculture system into opportunities. Our network is tackling the big questions, how do we:

  • Feed a global population of 9-10 billion by 2050?

  • Shift food production to have a beneficial impact on soil and ecosystems?

  • Tackle the food-created public health crises spreading across the globe?

Our roots.

When we began studying food and agriculture, it was apparent that entrepreneurs in this field lacked the ecosystem of information, resources and experienced help that has benefited entrepreneurs in information technology and health care for over 30 years. So, we set about creating a support hub connecting across the food system.

Decade 1.

In our first decade we helped found a food system accelerator, assisted the establishment of two food-focused venture firms— both actively investing in start-ups today— and held the inaugural Riverbank Conversations, an invitation only convening of movers and shakers working across the food value chain. The connections and collaborations that flowed our of Riverbank continue to grow.

Decade 2.

In 2020, we launched the next iteration of FoodCrunch. We are expanding the ecosystem for food system changemakers by creating space for candid dialogue and connection. Stay connected as the journey continues.
